The indoor club is run by a joint ladies and mens committee.
It has an extensive programme of inter club matches and competitions many of which are at a high standard but the emphasis is on providing a wide range of bowling for all members of any ability. There is coaching available for beginners and we try to maintain a friendly and inclusive atmosphere for all.
Competitive matches range from friendly matches to Surrey County League games and the club usually does well. In addition the club takes part in County and National competitions including the Denny Cup, the Yetton Trophy and London and Southern Counties competitions.
There are several ballots held at the same time each week in which any member can play. Teams are selected at random according to the numbers on the day.
There is a league system which runs through the indoor season. Members belong to teams which play regularly. It is open to players of any ability and both of these systems are good ways of meeting other members and developing bowling skills.
There are a number of matches and competitions which are played throughout the season and further information is available from the Club fixtures section.
We provide coaching for all new bowlers free of charge. This includes not just the mechanics of bowling but also how the game is played, etiquette etc. In addition we also provide, on request, 'remedial' coaching for more experienced bowlers.
On completion of coaching we provide an on-going mentoring service to help new bowlers understand how the club operates, (e.g. joining / playing in leagues/ playing for the club etc.). For the men this is done by Dennis Sheppard and for the ladies Dot Power.
The organiser of coaching is Mike Coombs.
There will be a meeting with Mike Coombs and the coaches to discuss rink time for new bowlers.
